Information sought for events calendar
GLOVERSVILLE Celebrations, crafts shows, festivals, entertainment and event dates are being solicited by the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the upcoming summer calendar of events.
"The Fulton County Chamber produces its tourism calendar on a quarterly basis fulfilling the demands of tourists and keeping the roster of activities current," said Alison Swartz, director of tourism for the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce.
For several years, the Fulton County Calendar of events was printed twice a year and represented events that took place during the winter and summer months. For 2008, the Fulton County Chamber prints its calendars on a quarterly basis. "Even though we have an up-to-the-minute interactive Web site calendar, many visitors still want to have a hard-copy brochure in their hands when they get here," said Swartz.
The summer calendar of events will be published annually by the chamber and distributed to thousands of businesses, visitors, and potential visitors. Events should fall within the months of July, August, and September 2008.
Fulton County groups and organizations that sponsor events are asked to submit their entries by Friday, May 16 to be included. Events should be open to the public and for tourists to participate in. Submissions must be entered through the chamber's tourism Internet calendar at www.44lakes.com. For more information, call the chamber at 725-0641.
